ಭಾರತ ಕಮ್ಯೂನಿಸ್ಟ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಯಕರೂ, ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿ.ವಿ. ಕಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲಾಯರು ಕಮ್ಯೂನಿಸ್ಟ್ ಚಳುವಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಅಪ್ರತಿಮ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಾಗಿ ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸಿಟ್ ಥಿಯರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಕ್ಟೀಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಲ್ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪತ್ರ, ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆ, ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ರೂಪಾಯಿ, ಶಾಲು, ಪೇಟ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಲವು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಕಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲಾಯರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಶ್ರೀ ಕಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲಾಯರು ತಮಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾದ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಮರಳಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ಕಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲಾಯರ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಈ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಶರ್ಮಾ, ಡಾ. ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ರಾವ್, ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಬ್ಬಯ್ಯ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಭಾರತ ಕಮ್ಯೂನಿಸ್ಟ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡಲಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಪಿ.ವಿ. ಲೋಕೇಶ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳು ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.

Freedom fighter and veteran leader of the Communist Party of India, Sri B.V. Kakkilaya, was honoured with the Karl Marx Award for his immense contribution to the Communist movement in the country by the Indian Institute of Marxist Theory and Practice, Dharwad. The award included a citation, a plaque, Rs. 10000 in cash, books, a shawl and a peta. Sri Kakkilaya returned Rs 10000 to the Institute for continuing their good work. The cordial function was held at Sri Kakkilaya's residence on Oct 2, 2010 and was attended by Sri K.S. Sharma and Dr. Raghavendra Rao of the Institute, Sri Subbayya Shetty, former minister, Sri PV Lokesh, Joint Secretary of Karnataka State Council of CPI and other leaders and members of the party and well wishers.
